Adopted a young female Chi on July 18, 2013 and feel so blessed to add her to our family
We recently lost one of our dogs to heart failure and her canine sister was lonely and we all missed her so much that as soon as I received an email with a picture of “Acorn” available for adoption I went straight to GBHS to see if she was the angel we were looking for. Met her and fell in love. She keeps the tip of her tongue out exactly like the Chi were just lost and I took that as a sign that she was meant for us. Home 3 days and a perfect fit. She uses a puppy pad and we have a doggie door so working on the training to potty outside. Making progress, she had the doggie door down after 3 tries but doesn’t correlate that to the need to potty, just use the door and expect a treat!! Not sure who is smarter her or us. Patience will be the key. All of our dogs have been rescues and we have never regretted it for a second. Save a life and have the best friend anyone could ever ask for.
