The GBHS Spay/Neuter & Critical Care Clinic is operated by the Greater Birmingham Humane Society and functions as Shelter Hospital for GBHS and offers services to local rescue partners. Over forty spay and neuter surgeries are performed at the facility daily, as well as other life-saving diagnostics, treatments, and procedures. The GBHS Spay/Neuter & Critical Care Clinic is also the host of the Birmingham Shelter Medicine Externship Program for the Auburn College of Veterinary Medicine which is a unique private/public partnership. The vet students spend two weeks honing their surgical skills and learning the ins and outs of Shelter Medicine throughout the GBHS facilities.
GBHS Spay/Neuter & Critical Care Clinic is closed to the public.
