The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce it will be hosting the 4th Annual “Paws and Claws Golf Tournament”. The proceeds from this event will go to benefit the Greater Birmingham Humane Society.

Our goal is to help the GBHS in their efforts to promote the humane treatment of animals and people through education, advocacy and services, all while having a little fun. Our K-9 Deputies will be on site again this year to take selfies with our participants for donations - so bring cash and have your photo made with all your favorites!

Paw-Di Gras Parade

Get ready for a pawsome Mardi Gras celebration with our Paw-Di Gras Parade, where pets and their humans can strut their stuff in style!

Welcome to Cahaba Heights inaugural Paw-Di Gras Parade hosted by Cahaba Heights Merchants Association! This all-new community event is sponsored by Cahaba Mountain Brook Animal Clinic and Club Canine. All proceeds will benefit the Greater Birmingham Humane Society.
Join us Sunday, March 2, at 3:30 PM. The dog parade will begin at Meadowlawn Park and end at Regions parking lot at Heights Village . It's $25 per household to register your furry friend for the parade and each dog registered will receive a Mardi Gras bandana. Each dog MUST be leashed. Cahaba Mountain Brook Animal Clinic will present each dog with a treat at completion of parade. Upon registering your canine companion, you will be entered into a raffle for a free bath and groom, and a three day punch card for Club Canine Daycare.
We're so excited to have Cahaba Heights Elementary facility dog, Marlie , serve as Grand Marshal for the parade.
After the parade ends, there will be lots of food, drinks, and fun for the entire family! Live music will take place on Troup's patio, Mr. Larry will be at the Lily Pad, the Doodles truck will serve sorbet and Italian ice and there will be face painting for kids!

Join us for our first GBHS Paw-liday Camp of the new year! Paw-liday Camp will be a one-day camp from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM with a good samaritan spin for Random Acts of Kindness Day! You can sign your camper up for this one-day session as space is available!
Paw-liday Camp allows kids to come in and work on enrichment activities and get hands-on experience with the shelter animals - all with a themed spin!
Paw-liday Camp is for ages 6-12 years old.

WHAT TO BRING TO CAMP
-Campers will need to wear clothes that they can get wet or dirty and tennis shoes (no flip flops or sandals). They will need a jacket since we'll be spending some time outside as the weather permits!
-Campers will need to bring a morning snack and a lunch.
-Campers will need to bring a reusable water bottle every day.
-Campers will NOT need to bring iPads or other electronics/games.

Every year, in conjunction with Mardi Gras, the Greater Birmingham Humane Society Auxiliary hosts the Jazz Cat Ball, the social event of the season. Jazz Cat Ball is one of the largest animal rescue fundraisers in the South, including a black-tie gala, seated dinner, music, casino, and huge online and live auctions! This year’s Jazz Cat Ball is presented by Industrial Chemicals, Inc. and the Jefferson County Commission.

The Jazz Cat Ball has become one of the largest charitable galas in the Southeast, attracting more than 1,000 animal-loving revelers. Every year tables and tickets sell out, and the waiting list continues to grow.

Vaccine Clinic at Jeff State

Join us on Saturday for our Pet Wellness Clinic! Pet owners will be able to receive free vaccines for their pets!

This is a drive-through clinic (four animals max per vehicle), so owners will stay in their cars. All dogs must be on a leash, and cats must be in a carrier. Vaccines are limited to the first 100 dogs and 25 cats, so please arrive early .Pet owners who cannot make it to the Pet Wellness Clinic but are interested in free or low-cost vaccinations are encouraged to visit GBHS.org/PetResources or email PetPantry@gbhs.org.

Join us for our third year of GBHS Paw-liday Camp! Paw-liday Camp will be two separate full day camps from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Paw-liday Camp allows kids to come in and work on enrichment activities and get hands-on experience with the shelter animals - all with a winter-themed spin!
Paw-liday Camp is for ages 6-12 years old.
