Join us for our third year of GBHS Paw-liday Camp! Paw-liday Camp will be two separate full day camps from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Paw-liday Camp allows kids to come in and work on enrichment activities and get hands-on experience with the shelter animals - all with a winter-themed spin!
Paw-liday Camp is for ages 6-12 years old.
The registration fee is $60.00 per day. Space is limited. Please be sure to select the correct camp dates.

WHAT TO BRING TO CAMP

We are excited to once again be a part of this year's Christmas Village event, which will take place from November 6-10 in the BJCC exhibition hall.
Here are the event hours so you can plan your visit:
VIP Day (Wednesday): 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Thursday to Saturday: 10:00 am - 7:00 pm
Sunday: 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
When you visit our booth, you're not only getting into the festive spirit but also supporting a great cause. 100% of the proceeds from our booths will go directly towards supporting the Greater Birmingham Humane Society and our mission to promote the humane treatment of people and animals through education, advocacy, and services.

Join us for a spooktacular good time at the Greater Birmingham Humane Society's 4th Annual Tricks for Treats event!
Our spooky tour guides will lead small groups of trick 'r treaters on a hauntedly fun tour of the adoption floor on Snow Drive. A donation of pet food for the GBHS Pet Pantry will be required for entry.
While we love our furry friends, this event is just for humans. There will be shelter pets in attendance to scare up a good time!

Join us for a paw-some day at “Couture for a Cause” on October 19th from 12 PM to 4 PM at the Discover Shelby Pavilion, Oak Mountain State Park!

In celebration of Subaru Loves Pets Month and National #MakeADogsDay, Hendrick Subaru in Hoover will be hosting an adoption event at their location from 9am until noon on Saturday, October 19, 2024!

During this event, all adoptions will be FREE courtesy of Hendrick Subaru Hoover.

TARA, the Greater Birmingham Humane Society's mobile adoption RV, will be present with adorable adoptable dogs.

Each October, Hendrick Subaru showcases their commitment to pets by donating $100 for every pet adopted from GBHS.*

You won't want to miss this fun event!

*Subaru retailers will donate $100 for every pet adopted from partner shelters from October 1, 2022, through October 31, 2022, up to $3,100 in total.

4th Annual Putts for Paws

The Greater Birmingham Humane Society Young Professionals Board is very excited to announce the annual Putts for Paws golf tournament on October 4, 2024, at the beautiful Highland Park Golf Course.

Attendees will have the opportunity to play 18 holes of golf, followed by an awards ceremony.

Registration will begin at 11am and the tournament will tee off at noon. Lunch will be provided to each golfer. There will also be a silent auction and the chance to win some amazing prizes by participating in fun and challenging games throughout the afternoon. The Solutionaries Program invites passionate high school juniors and seniors from Jefferson County to apply for a unique opportunity to become community changemakers and animal advocates. This selective program empowers students with the skills, resources, and support needed to tackle pressing issues and drive meaningful change. Through hands-on projects, mentorship, and collaborative efforts, participants will engage in impactful initiatives that benefit both the community and animal welfare, while developing leadership and problem-solving abilities.

Pooches on the Patio

Grab your pup and get ready to PAWty! Vino, Birmingham’s premier Mediterranean restaurant, is hosting its annual Pooches on the Patio event to celebrate its 13th anniversary. Sponsored by Tito's Handmade Vodka, the event will be held Thursday, Sept. 19 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and will benefit the Greater Birmingham Humane Society (GBHS). Vino will be featuring classic Vino dishes along with its regular menu.


Guests are invited to bring their dogs and join the celebration, and the GBHS will also be onsite with adoptable dogs. The event’s featured will both be made with Tito’s, and a portion of sales will benefit the GBHS. Tito’s will also be at the event giving out Vodka for Dog People merchandise to attendees and will set up a photo booth for guests and their four-legged friends.

In the case of rain, Vino’s patio features two covered areas for guests. Reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made by calling 205-870-8404 or by visiting
