2024 Jazz Cat Ball

  • Finley Center 5508 Stadium Trace Parkway Hoover, AL, 35080 United States (map)

Every year, in conjunction with Mardi Gras, the Greater Birmingham Humane Society Auxiliary Board hosts the Jazz Cat Ball, the social event of the season. Jazz Cat Ball is one of the largest animal rescue fundraisers in the South, including a black-tie gala, seated dinner, music, casino, and huge online and live auctions!

This year’s Jazz Cat Ball is presented by Regions Bank and the Jefferson County Commission.

For the past several years, the GBHS Auxiliary has hosted the Jazz Cat Ball at the Sheraton Hotel Ballroom in downtown Birmingham. We appreciate the hard work and services their staff provided, but the gala has outgrown the capacity of the Sheraton.

The Jazz Cat Ball has become one of the largest charitable galas in the Southeast attracting more than 1,000 animal-loving revelers. Every year tables and tickets sell out, and the waiting list continues to grow.

To accommodate this growth, the GBHS Auxiliary decided to change venues to The Finley Center which is much larger and enables us to ADD:

  • Additional tables and create more space in between each table.

  • Ample parking spaces eliminating the long lines for valet.

  • More beverage centers and bartenders.

  • Our own caterer with additional servers to improve dinner service.

  • Extra space for the Southeast’s largest silent auction which includes original art, rare liquors and wines, home goods, sports memorabilia, unique trips, culinary experiences, spa, and children’s packages, with room for guests to browse with increased visibility of sponsor recognition signage.

  • A larger dance floor and Casino gaming area.

The GBHS Auxiliary Krewe is hard at work designing the transformation of The Finley Center to become Mardi Gras on Bourbon Street complete with street lanterns, king cakes, moon pies, doubloons, throws, hurricane glasses, masks, and of course, a jazz ensemble prior to dinner. So, ladies get your crowns and gowns, and gentlemen get your tux and tails!

We can’t wait to see you February 3, 2024!

Check back for information on when the silent auction goes live and how to participate.
